The epidemiological situation of rare diseases in Chile and the region, gaps in timely diagnosis and access to high-cost treatments, and the current regulatory framework—including the Ricarte Soto Law and its evolution. It also covers the role of patient advocacy groups as stakeholders in public policy, rare disease registries as a surveillance tool, and international cooperation for the development of therapies in low-prevalence settings.
