Where we live shapes whether we feel connected. Streets, transport, housing, public spaces and local services all affect whether people can take part in and feel connected to local community life, at every age. Join the WHO Commission on Social Connection and the Global Network for Age-friendly Cities and Communities (GNAFCC) for a 90-minute online dialogue on the role of cities and communities in strengthening social connection, and the central role of social connection in creating thriving cities and communities for all ages.
The session soft launches a new living guide for local action, developed jointly by WHO and GNAFCC, and brings together national, city and expert leaders as dialogue participants to discuss how local policy, services and public spaces can help people stay connected across the life course.
It is part of WHO’s Connection Conversations series and the second in GNAFCC’s Age-friendly Conversations Online Series, held around the 3rd World Congress on Age-friendly Cities and Communities. Open to local government leaders and practitioners, GNAFCC members, and partners across UN agencies, academia and civil society. Interpretation will be available in all UN languages.
